Most wedding photographers know how to capture the storybook moments that make up the timeline of our ‘perfect day.’ The moment the bride starts down the aisle, the tears of joy and surprise on the groom’s face, the first kiss, the cutting of the cake. However, it takes a creative and thoughtful photographer to capture the portrait of the bride in the moments of anticipation leading up to the ceremony. Svetlana Strizhakova Photography shows you how you can remember your whole day from start to finish by showcasing a bride in her moment of quiet peace before the hurricane of last-minute arrangements, grandparents pinching cheeks, and figuring out how to replace the DJ whose car broke down on the other side of town. Your wedding morning should be called the calm before the storm. Brides have a few moments of peace from the time they open their eyes to the time, “OMG, I’m getting married today!”
By utilizing the warm morning light and using soft pastel tones of peach hyacinths and white cherry blossoms as a backdrop, the photo shoot gives a peaceful atmosphere to gaze in on our bride’s morning. A few interspersed pale blue hydrangeas bring attention to her “something blue” dressing gown by Dresslab. Her face is the epitome of calm, though we are sure she has a million thoughts running through her mind. Did the maid-of-honor bring the ring? What if the flower girl throws a tantrum walking down the aisle? The photographer captures none of those thoughts.
And to add a personal touch to the photo shoot, there are even a few portraits of our bride relieving her stress in her own way – by taking a moment to create a bit of her own art through watercolor painting. What a charming way to reflect back on a special moment in time.
