When couples elope, they miss out on the traditional reception with friends and family coming together to celebrate the marriage, so sometimes, they come up with a creative way to capture that celebration in other ways. Our next couple threw a spring garden party style and very feminine bridal shower in which the closest friends and family of the bride were able to celebrate her pending nuptials. Playing off the garden theme that the couple chose for their elopement, the bride was able to create a casual, but elegant, garden party in her future mother-in-law’s gorgeous backyard. Not only that, but the bride and her future mother-in-law were able to grow closer in their kinship by planning and orchestrating the party together, down to the last detail!
Crisp white linens against the lush green landscaping set a beautiful palette, with antique-looking floral dishware and elegant glassware. They even added a chandelier hanging above. The bride to be wore a simple white lace tea-length dress wearing a crown of matching flowers, and the rest of guests added floral patterns in their own garments. We love that they even had the gift wrap in floral prints to compliment the theme! Cupcakes, teacakes, cookies, lemonade and iced tea were served in a final nod to the theme. Ashley McCormick was there snapping up all the beautiful details of this Spring garden party style bridal shower. Words from the bride-to-be… Since my fiance and I made the decision to elope for our wedding ceremony, I really wanted to plan a party for my closest girl friends and family so that they could celebrate with me. Of course that translated into me wanting a very feminine bridal shower that also carried out my garden wedding theme. Mission accomplished! My future in laws have a beautiful back yard and I knew from day one it would be the perfect setting for my outdoor event. Luckily, my sweet Mother-in-law was gracious enough to agree to host my shower at their home. The event wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was if I didn’t have her helping with all of the pretty details and planning. In fact, it brought us closer together, and I love she supported me in carrying out all of my grand ideas. She is extremely crafty and she did the majority of the decorating herself and found most of the decorations.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when everyone was finally seated at the table and I was able to look around and see that everything came together so perfectly. More importantly, it was such a blessing to take in the fact that everyone was there to love and support me and my upcoming marriage. It truly was the perfect day!
