It’s so fascinating to learn about what inspires bridal gown designers to create their collections each year. Today we’re sharing a collection from Papilio Bridal, in which designer Alena Goretskaya demonstrates just what artists these gown designers really are. She tells us that she was instantly inspired by the swan Princess painting by Mikhail Vrubel. The fantasy and theatre of the legend of the Swan Princess lent a perfect jumping off point for a series of gowns that celebrate drama, fluidity and chastity. These dresses are deceptively simply at first glance, but the magic comes at a closer look at how the designers have layered fabrics and textures and created stunning shapes in each gown. Each one creates its own kind of drama, whether it’s from a breathtaking wide skirt like the Don and Venta, movement like the Amu Darya and Amur from a rich flowy fabric, or the immaculate crisp white that each of the gowns are featured in. They are perfectly styled with delicate headpieces, replicating perfectly the look of the ballerinas of the famous Swan Lake. So, if you’re hoping to feel like a swan princess that floats effortlessly over a pond in the moonlight, be sure to check out the whole Swan Princess gown collection from Papilio.
