When I saw the first photo from this gorgeous wedding portrait shoot, I literally said “WOW” out loud. Those bright colours, those huge flowers, and that gorgeous drapey wedding gown just made my jaw fall open. Let me introduce you to today’s feature bride, Maria, and her groom Jemal. They enjoyed a two-day nuptial celebration in Moscow, which gave them an opportunity to work with Tanya Photography to create these stunning portraits. Just look at how amazing Maria is captured on film standing in the rose gardens in an off white wedding dress by Rara Avis that is so perfect for the look they wanted to capture. The gown is an antiqued off-white colour, billowy with draped chiffon and accented with unique trails of beaded fringe. Standing next to antique marble planters and holding an armful of gorgeous over-sized peach-coloured blossoms – it’s just all so lovely, isn’t it? Then, we see her ultra-chic groom in his bonnie blue tuxedo, and we see that the little pops of blue flowers in her bouquet serve a great purpose in tying the two together in a blue theme. There aren’t enough words to describe the beauty of this stylized shoot, so we’ll let the photos from Tanya Khardova photography speak for themselves!

From Tanya Khardova Photography

The wedding of Maria and Jemal was in the middle of summer, 15.07.16. The wedding has been celebrated during two days. I shot the first day. It was the day of registration in the registry office and they wanted to be comfortable, just with the family. Besides they wanted their parents to get acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere, because the family of Jemal came from Abkhazia and they didn’t know each other until that day. They wanted me on this day to take classic romantic shots, posing, portrait shots, because the next day a more active sequential shooting was planned with another photographer.

Maria began to prepare for the wedding in winter. As the main color of the decor she chose blue, wedding trend of last year. For a bouquet she chose a favorite peach-colored David Austin roses grade Juliet. For our shoot we chose two places: the Catherine Park and the Botanical gardens of Moscow state University “The Apothecaries’ garden”. Both of these places have a long history and were founded in the 16th – 17th centuries. We started shooting at 9 a.m. in the Catherine Park, to catch the soft morning light which is best for the bride’s portrait. Most of all we loved the rose garden of the Catherine Park, which is so suited to the romantic look of the bride. The first look of the bride and groom was here, under the arch of the gazebo.

Then we went for marriage registration in the Meshchansky registry office. This building was designed by V. I. Bazhenov in 1770 to the Moscow merchant I. L. Long. Therefore, preserved the grandeur of that epoch. The ceremonial hall is decorated in warm beige tones. Gilded chandeliers and luxurious curtains make the atmosphere even more festive and elegant. Maria and Jemal decided that this room is the ideal place for elegant and refined wedding.

After the ceremony we took a few shots at the nearby Apothecaries’ garden. At this point, all the excitement has passed and left only the happy expression on the faces.
