Today, we are featuring the absolutely beautiful and feminine wedding – A colour palette of muted Cinderella blue to set the tone for a soft, feminine June wedding in California. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. We are all familiar with this old poem that bids brides good fortune for their wedding day and a lasting marriage. So why not choose a blue design theme for your wedding to surround yourself with good fortune? Ashley and Steven’s “something blue” wedding in California is a gorgeous fresh twist on a tradition. Thanks to Mariel Hannah Photography, we have their album to share with you for inspiration on a beautiful blue way to say “I do.”
Ashley surrounded herself with good vibes right from the beginning of her big day by giving her bridesmaids matching blue silk dressing robes. They traded the robes in for a mix-and-match blend of bridesmaids gowns, each as gorgeous as the next. They even mixed up the textures with tulle and sparkle! And let’s not forget to mention those dashing lads in deep navy tailored suits, including the adorable ring-bearers.
Check out the great tablecloths too! Ashley chose striped pale blue and white round tablecloths, a fun way to add texture and colour to the décor. Her floral arrangements used white flowers, a few pops of blue with berries and sea holly, all backed by olive and eucalyptus branches. Olive and eucalyptus greenery are perfect for offsetting blue due to their slightly blue-grey sheen, and this wedding did not spare the greenery, using it draped around the venue. One of Ashley’s non-negotiables was the use of Disney-inspired details, but in a way that was chic and not too overt. They opted for custom signage with some of Ashley’s favorite Disney quotes and placed them throughout the reception.
